Linda and Family, I will miss Wayne immensely. I was very lucky to have worked with him for years in the Operations Directorate. He was the expert and helped many of us learn the right way to get things done. He will be missed.

Back in the middle 70’s and early 80’s, I taught engineering to some of the S-3 personnel. That’s how I met Wayne. He was always a gentleman and a great soldier. Please accept my deepest condolences. May he rest in peace forever. Jay

Linda and family, I’m so sorry to hear of Wayne’s passing. I had privilege of working with him through most of the 1980s. Many fond memories of year round work in Maine and then annual training from Fort Drum to CFB Gagetown and more places in between than you could count. And who could forget the shared moose burgers grilled in OMS-1. No matter what the challenge, Wayne always kept it real. “TO THE LAST MAN”

LINDA, ALICIA AND FAMILY. LUCY AND I WILL MISS NEWBY. I LOOKED UP TO HIM AS A MENTOR AND FRIEND. HE WAS ALWAYS WILLING TO SHARE HIS KNOWLEDGE WITH ME, AS I HELD MANY OF THE SAME POSITIONS IN THE 133RD. HE ALWAYS LISTENED TO WHAT WE HAD TO SAY, AND THEN GIVE ADVISE. HE ONLY ASKED ME TO MAKE COFFEE AT ONE AT ON THE CAPE, IT WAS MORE LIKE AXLE GREASE THAN ANYTHING ELSE. WE ALL HAD A GOOD LAUGH ABOUT IT. HE LOVED TO PLAY POKER WITH THE GUYS AFTER A HARD DAY IN THE FIELD. HIS SMILE WAS VERY CONTAGIOUS AND WOULD LITE UP A ROOM. LUCY LOVED TO SEE HIM IN THOSE DRESS BLUES AT THE MILITARY BALL. WE’LL ALL MISS HIM ALOT. “TO THE LAST MAN”

You gave so much and asked for so little; I feel so honored that you called me friend. The memories i have of all our activities and the discussions we had during those moments are very precious to me. I especially enjoyed the arguments we had while rating and the busting of each others chops during our two ball matches. You will always be remembered in our toasts and roasts. Salainte

Linda, Alicia, and family. I worked for Wayne many years ago when I first joined the full-time staff as Active Guard Reserve (AGR). He was the one of the most patient, knowledgeble and fair minded bosses I have ever had. I learned a lot from Wayne and always admired that he had a way of figuring things out even if he didn’t know how to do it. He always knew the right questions to ask which helped me to realize I could do something and didn’t even kow it was in me. He would give credit where credit was due and he inspired me from the beginning of my career in the Guard to before I knew it, 22 years had come and gone. TO THE LAST MAN!
