Lyman, MaineWarren P. Green, 75, of Alfred Rd. Lyman, Maine died April 22, 2002 at his home after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his wife and children.He was born in Liecester, MA., on July 4, 1926, a son of Wilton E. and Myrtle E. Smith Green. He spent his childhood in Waterboro, ME. With his mother Myrtle E. and stepfather William Bodycote. He attended Alfred High School.Mr. Green was a hardworking man, he was employed at various jobs, including the former Zodiac Shoe Company, Seamlock Carpet Co., and H.E. Carpenter. For several years during that time, he ran a rubbish removal business, working with his son , William. Following his official retirement at age 67, he was employed by the Town of Sanford as a school crossing guard.His life was spent doing God's work. His greatest pleasure was giving Bible studies to those considered his "Bible Family", in various homes in several towns, including Wells, Old Orchard Beach, Alfred and Waterboro. He attended various churches, most recently South Waterboro Bible Chapel in South Waterboro, and Marantha Pentecostal Church in Old Orchard Beach. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Beatrice Flanders; 4 children Mrs. James (Betty) Locke of Springvale, Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Brochu of Waterboro, his twins Mrs. Carl (Wilma) Harris of Dayton and Mr. William (Elaine) Green of Alfred; a sister Mrs. H. Chester (Harriette) Brown of Alfred; a brother Wilton Green of Blairsville, Georgia; ten grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Philip Green..Warren's request was for funeral and committal services to be private. A memorial service will be held with his family and friends on April 27th at 2:00 PM at The South Waterboro Bible Chapel. If desired, donations may be made in his memory to The American Cancer Society New England Division, Inc. 1 Main St. - Suite 300 Topsham, ME. 04086.
