Virginia M. Armour

Virginia M. Armour, 85, of Springvale, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Southern Maine Hospital in Biddeford. She was currently residing at the Mayflower in Sanford. She was born in Newburgh, NY on March 19, 1934 a daughter of the late John and Edna (Beck) Fox. She attended local Newburgh schools and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1952.After her father passed away she took ownership of the family business, Foxies Restaurant in Newburgh. A few years later she was employed in the accounting department of the Ramada Inn also in Newburgh.In 1996 she moved to Maine with her mother to be closer to her daughter. Once settled they travelled the state extensively sightseeing and tasting local eateries along the way. For the past 20 years she spent a lot of time with her best friend, Frannie. They attended book clubs, enjoyed playing cards and spending time at Wells beach.She is survived by her daughter, Sherri A. Armour of Springvale, cousin, Niel Nielson and his wife, Sue of Newburgh, NY as well as many cousins currently residing on Long Island, NY.A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9th at 11AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
