Portland, Maine
Portland - Victoria Anne Dowling, 41, died on May 8, 2023 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Portland, Maine.
Tori was born on September 28, 1981 to Joseph and Elisa Pagliarini in North Providence, Rhode Island.
She graduated from North Providence High School with the class of 1999. She attended Providence College, earning her bachelors degree in English.
Not long after graduating college, she went to work for her father writing mortgages, which she did for nearly twenty years. Tori's sharp mind and positivity suited her well for work in a tough industry. Tori saw great professional success, culminating in the establishment, running, and managing of a team for a major mortgage lender dealing in a specialized loan type focused on home renovation.
She married the love of her life, Kevin Dowling, on June 13, 2015. Together they raised two beautiful children, Isla and Robert.
Kevin and Tori moved to the city of Portland, Maine in 2012. Tori loved to try new restaurants and a nice glass of wine. Portland could not have been a better location for them to move to. Tori loved to write, cook, paint, and read a good book. Most of all she loved her husband, children, and family.
Tori was a fighter, and battled an aggressive breast cancer bravely and fought until the very end.
Tori is predeceased by her father Joseph, her aunt Sandra, and her grandfather Papa Mike.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Kevin; children, Isla and Robert; mother, Elisa Pagliarini; brothers, Chris (Stephanie) Pagliarini, Rich (Heather) Pagliarini, Tom (Julia) Pagliarini; as well as many other loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday May 21st from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Tirrell Room (254 Quarry Street, Quincy, MA).
A service to celebrate and honor Victoria's life will begin at 3:30pm.

I was fortunate to work with Tori for well over a decade and she was a pleasure to be around, she had a can do get it done work ethic and was beloved by all of us that had a chance to be part of her life. I will cherish my memories of one of the most lovely people I’ve worked with in 37 years of the mortgage business.
To our son Kevin and our beautiful grandchildren Robbie and Isla words cannot express our sadness at Tori’s passing. And words cannot express our love for her. Tori had a heart filled with love and joy that she shared with everyone. She and Kevin had deep love for each other. Tori was the wife every parent would wish for their son.
Victoria and I became close in high school and she had a really powerful and positive influence on my life. In many ways, she helped me to become the man I am today and I was greatly saddened to hear of her passing. I miss her dearly.
But to Kevin, Robert and Isla; please know that Victoria has too strong of a spirit to stand by and let another angel guard the three of you. I believe that she is already watching over you, even now. That she will do everything in her power to protect and guide you. Most of all, she will love you with all her heart, forevermore.
Kevin, our hearts go out to you and your family. Sorry for your loss.

Victoria and I met in 8th grade and were friends throughout high school. When I think about her, I think of sharing secret crushes, creating a special birthday celebration for everyone in the friend group, DETAILED prom preparations, and driving down to the beach off-season, desperate for summer to arrive. I’m also pretty sure we went to see Alanis Morissette together (a HUGE deal in the late 90s), which was probably the first concert I ever went to. There were DEFINITELY karaoke nights, and ping pong in my parents’ basement, and treats from her job at Dunkin Donuts. I am happy to know that her life was full of joy, adventure, art, love, integrity, and grit, and so deeply sorry for the loss to all those who loved her.
Tori will be missed. She was such a wonderful person to work with. My condolences go out to the entire family.
