Troy S. Payeur

May 25, 2020
Troy S. Payeur, 48, of Lebanon, died on Monday, May 25th at Maine Medical Center following a period of declining health.Troy was born on March 22, 1972 to Ronald Payeur and Sandra Brown in Germany while his father was stationed there in the military.Gone far too soon, Troy was a big man with an even bigger heart that enjoyed life and taking care of others. He was known as "Bear" to his family and closest friends because of his gentle nature and desire to help others. Sometimes describing himself as a 'simple man', the thing he loved most was spending time with his family. He was engaged to the love of his life, Jennifer. Their love for each other was beyond the basic love, it was true and unconditional love that few people ever get a chance to experience, the kind that writes love letters, prepares meals and accepts everything life throws your way. That deep love extended to two amazing boys; their son Ryan and Troy's step-son Kyle. Troy was a natural caregiver for his family who filled their home with love, strength and fun. Troy was a quiet man with a great sense of humor. He loved to make people smile and tried not to take life too seriously. He loved spending time in nature, fishing on the lake and watching Red Sox games. Troy's dog Freyja was always by his side. Troy selflessly gave of himself to others. He was very patriotic and served our country in the U.S. Army after graduating from Sanford High School. After his military service he attended Southern Maine Technical College and then worked as a paramedic for over 25 years in different municipalities. Even as his health declined he recognized the importance and of giving to others by becoming an organ donor. Because of Troy, others will have the gift of life. Troy was predeceased by his mother, Sandra Brown. Surviving are his fiancee, Jennifer (Libbey) Cote of Lebanon; his son, Ryan Libbey; his step-son Kyle Cote; his father and step-mother, Ronald and Alida Payeur of Vero Beach, Florida; his sister, Lacey Payeur of Limington, Maine; his parents-in-law Roger and Sylvia Libbey of Lebanon; two brothers-in law, Bryan Libbey and his wife Kim of Wells and James Libbey and his wife Lori of Sanford and six nieces and nephews, Justin, Kaylin, Joe, Levi, Christopher and Elizabeth.Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 10th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.
