Tirzah B. Mackay

Tirzah Beattie MacKay, 86, of Sanford, passed away on Saturday March 1, 2008 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. She was born on October 9, 1921 in Boston, MA, a daughter of Edward and Tirzah (Tebbetts) Beattie.She graduated from Sanford High School Class of 1939. For many years she had been employed by Gendron and Lavalley Lumber. For over 70 years she had been a member of the North Parish Congregational Church in Sanford.She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas F. MacKay, one son, Thomas R. MacKay, two sisters, Beryl Reeks and Beverly Vezina, one brother, Edward Beattie.Mrs. MacKay is survived by one daughter, Sharon LaRose and her husband, Dale of Sanford, two brothers, Charles Beattie and his wife, Jo of Springvale, Bryce Beattie and his wife, Abbott of North Berwick, one daughter in law, Diane MacKay of Sanford, four grandchildren, Sarah MacKay and Alan MacKay of Sanford, Brenda Beattie Heald and her husband, Jay of Saranac, VT, David LaRose and his wife, Mindi of Gig Harbor, Washington, three great grandchildren, Ricky McCann of Plattsburg, NY, Lyndsi LaRose and Madison LaRose of Gig Harbor, WA.A Graveside Service for Mrs. MacKay will be held at a later date at the Oakdale Cemetery in Sanford.Contributions may be made in her memory to a charity of one's choice.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.To leave a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
