Therese R. Pepin, 90, of Sanford, died on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford surrounded by her children.Therese was born in Sanford on May 3, 1924 to Arthur and Dora (Sevigny) Lajeunesse. She grew up in the Sanford-Springvale area where she attended local schools. She devoted her life to raising and taking care of her family. When her children were grown she worked for several years in the cafeteria at Sanford High School.Therese was a devout Catholic and had been a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish. She enjoyed spending many summers at the family cottage in Wells. Therese enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles which she would frame and often give as gifts to family and friends. She was also an avid doll collector and was a fan of Shirley Temple and collecting Shirley Temple memorabilia. Therese was an outgoing and friendly woman and had formed many close relationships with both the residents and staff of the Greenwood Center. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Surviving are five children, Marguerite McGill and her husband Steven of Herndon, VA, Raymond Pepin of Springvale, Richard Pepin and his wife Rita of Sanford, Monique DesRoberts of Sanford and Ronald Pepin and his wife Susan of Alfred; seven grandchildren, Jason Pepin, Brian McGill, Matthew McGill, Jessy Gallant, Bobby Theriault, Jr., Seth Pepin and Sydney Pepin and three great-grandchildren, Brennan Pennell, Eli Gallant and Ethan McGill.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 16th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church located on Payne Street in Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the St. Therse of Lisieux Parish heating fuel fund, 66 North Avenue, Sanford, Maine 04073.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
