Therese L. Bergeron
Therese L. Bergeron, 90, of Sanford, died August 10 in Sanford after a short illness.She was born in Sanford on April 25, 1923, the daughter of Evariste and Aurore (Ouellette) Bergeron. She attended local schools then went to work with Jagger Mills and the Goodall Mills. She moved to Watertown, MA where she earned her G.E.D. and took several business courses. She worked as a private secretary at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA for 18 years after which she retired back to Sanford.Therese was a communicant of St. Ignatius Church, a member of St. Jean Baptiste Society and was a Girl Scout leader.She enjoyed the annual La Kermesse festival in Biddeford. In her younger days she enjoyed dancing, roller skating and ice skating.She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers Robert Bergeron and Maurice Bergeron and two sisters Lucille Roy and Estelle Gagne.Survivors include her brother Richard Bergeron and his wife Marie of Sanford, four sisters, Gertrude Berard of Sanford, Rachel Belanger and her husband Norman of Sanford, Sister Claire, HUSC of Lawrence, MA, Sister Berthe, OSU of Lewiston, sister in law Simone Bergeron of Sanford and several nieces and nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Avenue in Sanford. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery.The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of The Lodges and of Goodall Hospital for the wonderful care shown to Therese and to them during her illness.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
