Therese P. Belanger

Therese P. Belanger, 81, of Sanford, died at her home on Sunday, June 24, 2007.Therese was born in Biddeford on August 18, 1925 to Willie and Angelina Martin Poisson. She was a very hard working woman and was employed as a binder in the Pepperell Mill in Biddeford for 45 years. She was a past member of the Rochambeau Club where she had been involved for over 40 years. She was also a member of St. Matthew's Parish in Limerick. Mrs. Belanger was a very friendly and social woman. She enjoyed attending parties and spending time with her family and friends at the lake. She was an avid card player and particularly enjoyed playing hands and foot. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and friend with a big heart. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Belanger was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Jeanne, Flaurette, Pauline, Rita, Lionel and William.Surviving are her husband, Joseph L. Belanger of Sanford; a daughter, Paulette Gonneville and her husband Ray of Waterboro; a son, LeoPaul Belanger and his wife Diane of Arundel; a brother-in-law, John Poirier of MA; four grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Casey and Jesse and many nieces and nephews.Visitation hours will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 29 at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 30 at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located at 66 North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent the American Cancer Society, New England Division, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Topsham, ME 04086.
