Theresa M. Chevalier

Theresa M. Chevalier, 89, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a brief illness.Theresa was born on July 16, 1926, one of thirteen children born to the late Edmund and Cedulie (Provencher) Chevalier. She grew up in Sanford where she attended local schools, graduating from St. Ignatius High School. During her working life she was employed at Universal Shoe, York Heel and finally at Sprague Electric where she stayed for many years until her retirement.Theresa loved life and enjoyed reading, crafts and crocheting. She was a devout Catholic and had been a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish. She was also a Girl Scout leader and a Lady of St. Anne. She never had any children but she developed very close relationships with her nieces and nephews who she loved as if they were her own. Theresa will be remembered as a kind and caring sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Theresa was predeceased by her parents and by 11 siblings, Robert, Leo, Lucille, Armand, Laurette, Alma, Rita, Lawrence, Richard, Cecile and George.She is survived by her brother Raoul Chevalier and his wife Jeanette, and many beloved nieces, nephews.Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 AM on Monday, September 28th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale, a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.
