Theresa N. Champagne, 80, of Springvale, passed away at home on Saturday April 22, 2017, surrounded by her family after a prolonged illness. She was born in Sanford on March 13, 1937 a daughter of the late Arsene and Angelina (Grondin) Dubois. She attended Holy Family School and graduated from Sanford High School in 1955. She received an Associates Degree in Clerical Studies from Thomas-Nelson Community College in Newport News, Virginia.On November 17, 1956 she married Robert Champagne at Holy Family Church. She worked at the former Sanford Tribune and Aletta Dress Shop.Theresa was a communicant of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish where she was an active member of the choir for many years. She was a life member of the following organizations, The Daugher's of Isabella, having served as Past Regent and Financial Secretary, Ladies of St. Anne, Ladies Auxilary V.F.W., having served as Past State President, Ladies Auxilary of the American Legion, Ladies Military Order of Cooties #22, as well as a member of Weight Watchers.During her spare time she enjoyed knitting, cross stitching, jigsaw and crossword puzzles.She is predeceased by her parents as well as her siblings, Beatrice Dubois, Jeannette Desjardin, Lucille Gagnon, Donalda Turgeon, George Dubois and Roland Dubois.She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Champagne of Springvale, children, Cecile Lier and her husband, Tom of Fort Worth, Texas, Dennis Champagne and his wife, Rosemary of Sanford, Sue Gagnon and her husband, Jim of Sanford, Carol Gervais of Glendale, Arizona, Linda Champagne of Springvale, Pauline Mayo and her husband, Brian of Springvale, one brother, Victor (Bob) Dubois of Yorba Linda, California, 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.Visiting hours for Theresa will be on Friday from 6 to 8pm at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10M at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
