Susan Lucier

Susan Lucier, 55, of Sanford, died at her home on Thursday, April 7, 2016.Susan was born on November 10, 1960 in Waltham, Massachusetts where she grew up and attended local schools until her family relocated to Maine in 1969. She had been employed as a certified nursing assistant at Greenwood Center in Sanford for many years until she had to leave due to declining health.Susan enjoyed making crafts, doll houses, painting and collecting miniatures. She loved animals and was particularly passionate about cats. She was a quiet woman who enjoyed spending time at home with her family. Family was very important to her and she especially loved being around her grandchildren. Susan will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and daughter and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Surviving are three sons, Donald Lucier, Jr. of Limerick, David Lucier of Sanford and Christopher Lucier and his fiancee Tiffany of Augusta; two grandchildren, Eddy and Barrett Lucier of Augusta; her father, Clifford Collura and his companion Mary Ann Vitalone of Cornish; four siblings and a niece Stephanie and her two children, Zach and Sierra.A memorial gathering celebrating her life will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 17th at the Curtis Lake Christian Church located at 38 Westview Drive in Sanford.In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a contribution to the Lucier family to assist with expenses c/o David Lucier, 3B Jellerson Road, Sanford, Maine 04073.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
