Sue Ann Carpenter

Kennebunk - Sue Ann Carpenter, 82, passed away on November 4, 2024, at Kennebunk Health & Rehabilitation Center in Kennebunk. Sue was born on April 13, 1942, in Rockland, daughter of the late Lloyd and Carrie (Walker) Brann. Sue was quiet, kind and caring. She always put others before herself, especially her family. Sue was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother of 11. She was a homemaker who devoted much of her life caring for her 6 children. Sue was passionate about dogs and was a member of local Collie and Sheltie clubs. As her children grew older she became an active breeder of Collies as well as participated in many local and regional dog shows. Later she transitioned to Shelties and enjoyed even more dog show success. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren when ever she had a chance. They all brought her so much joy and comfort. She was always there to celebrate their accomplishments or support them any way she could. Her grandchildren will greatly miss her. Sue was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Philip J. Carpenter Sr.; sons, Philip Jr., Gregory and his wife Peggy; siblings, Nellie and Fred; and a grandchild, Christopher. She is survived by her children, Sue Ann and her husband Bill Kenny of Portland, Mary Ann of Holiday, FL, David and his wife Melinda Carpenter of Burnham, and Philip Jr. and his wife Rachel Carpenter of Arundel; grandchildren, Corey Kenny, Tyler and his wife Chelsea Zerin, Gregory and his wife Nicole Carpenter, John, Noah, Travis, Ella, Orson, Grace, and Philip IV; sister-in-law, Kathy Brann; niece Laurie Brann, and nephew Christopher Brann. Sue will be laid to rest with her husband at 1pm on November 20th, 2024, at Grove Cemetery in Belfast.
