Stephen P. Blanchette

Stephen P. Blanchette, 54, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital following a brief illness.Stephen was born in Biddeford on January 27, 1964 to Phillip and Virginia (Shuffleburg) Blanchette. He grew up in Old Orchard and Saco where he attended local schools. After he was grown he moved to Shapleigh where he lived for many years. Stephen held several jobs during his working life including working in construction, mechanical work and driving trucks.Stephen was an animal lover and was particularly fond of his dog Otis. He was very generous and always the first person to lend a hand if somebody was in need. He will be remembered as devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed.Surviving are his wife, Suzanne Blanchette of Sanford; four children, Roland Olin of Sanford, Crystal Bigger and her husband Ryan of Michigan, Samantha Madgey and her husband Gregory of Standish and Sara Blanchette of Sanford; six grandchildren; two siblings, Joseph Blanchette and his wife Charlene of Waterboro and Mildred Blanchette and her significant other Larry Roy of Biddeford; many nieces and nephews and his former spouse Gloria Blanchette of Sanford.At Stephen's request, services will be private.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
