Stanley Bagdon, Jr.
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Stanley Bagdon, Jr., of Yarmouth Road in Gray, ME, died peacefully in his home after a long illness.
He was born on June 13,1939 in NYC, the son of Stanley Bagdon, Sr. and Annette Bagdon (Dickstein). On August 17, 1963, he married Denise Bagdon (Caron) at St. John Bosco Church in Stamford, VT. They were happily married for over 60 years. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New York in September of 1988.
He started his career as a draftsman at Sprague Electric, where he met his wife, Denise, in 1963. After moving to VT, he worked as a draftsman at Simmonds Precision in VT. He was a member of the Army National Guard from 1956 to 1998, and his final 23 years were in full-time civil service. After retiring in May of 1998 as a Colonel in the VT Army National Guard, Stan and Denise traveled around the country for several years. Stan and Denise volunteered together for many years in their Catholic parish and at The Respite House in Williston, VT, serving the nutritional and other needs of residents there.
Stan is predeceased by his wife Denise, who died in April of 2024. He is survived by his daughter; Karen Irving, and her spouse, Michael Irving, his son; Jeffrey Bagdon, and his spouse, Melissa Bagdon, and his son, James Bagdon, and his spouse, Robin Bagdon. He is also survived by his sisters Carol Galinski and Janet Souther, and her husband, Ben Souther. He is also survived by five grandchildren, their spouses, and four great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am at on Tuesday, June 3rd at St. Gregory the Great Church, 24 North Raymond Road, Gray, Maine. Inurnment will take place at 11am on Wednesday, June 4th at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 487 Furnace Rd, Randolph Center, Vermont.

problems. We had opossing views but we were always civil to one another. When I listened I would here view points I had not thought of, and it was always said in a thoughtful way. If I could choose what a neighbor would be it would be like Stan Bagdon.
