Solange P. Martel

Solange P. Martel, 61, of Sanford passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at her home in Sanford. She was born in Biddeford on September 16, 1951 a daughter of the late Roland and Marie (Breton) Baron. She attended Biddeford High School.Over the years she had been employed by Hermon Shoe, Spencer Press and the past 29 years at Evonik Cyro. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her adventures to casinos and playing cards and cribbage.She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Elk's Lodge, Wolves Club and the Springvale Social ClubShe is predeceased by her parents, as well as one brother, Normand Baron.She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Arthur J. Martel, two step daughters, Brenda Hanson and her husband, Don of Sanford, Terry Kaiahua and her husband, Patrick of Aiea, Hawaii, six grandchildren, Crystal Palmer, Donald Hanson III of Sanford, Evan Palmer of North Waterboro, Keisha, Brandi and Kylie Kaiahua of Aiea, Hawaii., two sisters, Claire McIntyre and her husband, Richard, and Rolande Ouellette, both of Biddeford, as well as several nieces and nephews.Visiting hours for Solange will be on Friday, July 12th from 6 to 8PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
