Simone J. Guillemette, 69, of Sanford, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday June 7 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. Born and raised on a dairy farm in Biddeford, she was a daughter of Adrien and Lillian (Courtois) Roberge. She attended St. Joseph School in Biddeford.On September 3, 1960 she married Normand R. Guillemette at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They then moved to Sanford where she worked at Universal Shoe Co. for many years and then York Heel. When her family was growing up she worked part time at Bernier's Egg Farm. This allowed her time to spend the summer with her girls at home. Later on she returned to work at Tenneford Weaving and retired from there at the age of 56.She enjoyed her retirement years at home and along with her husband they shared a hobby making Bentwood boxes. They enjoyed traveling, doing shows and meeting many wonderful people across the country. She also enjoyed volunteer work at Goodall Hospital, collecting coins and bears, doing word searches. She was also a big Red Sox fan.She is survived by her husband, Normand R. Guillemette of Sanford, two daughters, Laurie Demers and her husband, Paul of Springvale, Lisa Rouillard and her husband, Richard of Sanford. She was most proud of her four grandchildren, Kristen and Greg Demers and Kevin and Jake Rouillard. She is also survived by five sisters, Vivian Cartier, Fern Croteau, Solange Waterhouse, Jean Roberge and Connie Littlefield. She will be missed dearly as she touched so many of our lives.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 13th at 9 :30 AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish-Holy Family Church in Sanford. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the St. Jude's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1905 (800-822-6344).Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.To leave a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
