Shawn Arthur Rumo

PORTLAND - Shawn Arthur Rumo, 46, of Portland, died peacefully January 17, 2012 at Gosnell Hospice House with his loving family by his side. He was born June 9, 1965 in Portland, the son of Arthur Samuel and Dolores Faye Derrig Rumo, Jr. Shawn was educated in local schools and attended Deering High School. He worked for Local 217 as a pipefitter throughout Maine for several years, retiring due to an injury. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. Shawn loved fast cars, music and most of all his family. Shawn was predeceased by his father. Surviving are: his mother Dolores of Portland; two sisters, Bernadette Rumo Higgins of North Yarmouth, Michelle Higgins and her husband David of Portland; uncle Pat and aunt Michaelene Derrig of Portland; three nieces, Katrina, Brittany, Meaghan; two nephews, Nicholas and Michael; many cousins; and a special childhood friend, John Roy. A 10:00 a.m. memorial service will be held on Saturday, at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
