Sandra V. Brooks

April 19, 1944 ~ December 25, 2021
Sandra Virgina Brooks, nee Quinn, 77, a resident of Ladson, South Carolina and a native of Sanford, Maine left us early on Christmas morning, December 25th, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She passed peacefully with her loving husband, their two daughters and their dog, Buster by her side.
She was born on April 19th, 1944 in Sanford, Maine, the daughter of Arthur W. Quinn and Irene V. Quinn,
nee Roux. She attended St. Thomas Elementary School and graduated from St. Ignatius High
School Class of 1963. She later attended Burdette College in Boston where she earned a
secretarial degree. Later, Sandra would go on to receive a Culinary Degree as a Diet Technician
from Southern Maine Technical School in early 2000.
Sandra was an avid gardener, loved family, dancing, social occasions, travel, cooking,
needlework, quilting and she loved her Maine lobster! Sandra spent many summers at Mousam
Lake in Acton, Maine during her youth. She was also known to enjoy a Martini or two at the
Front Porch in Ogunquit, Maine with her younger brother Tim on occasional summers.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gardner Corey Brooks of Ladson, SC and her
two daughters: Erika Lindsay Brooks of Shapleigh, ME and Kathryn Corey Tyrrell and her
husband Shelby Tyrrell of Ladson, SC. She is also survived by her youngest brother Timothy
Correll-Quinn and his husband John Correll-Quinn of New York City and Copenhagen,
Denmark, along with five grandchildren; Evan Brooks of Maine, Jacob Brooks-Madgey of
Maine, Kayla Brooks of Maine. Maggie Brooks of Montana. Erin Usher of Arizona and five
great grandchildren. Her younger brother Edward Quinn of Livermore Falls, ME predeceased her
in December 2020. Sandra will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial mass for Sandra is scheduled for Sunday, May 22nd 2022 at 11AM at Holy Family
Church in Sanford, ME, followed by a graveside service at St Ignatius cemetery in Sanford, ME.
