Ruth A. MacRae

Ruth A. MacRae, 99, of Sanford, passed away at her home on Sunday January 21, 2007. She was born in Jonesboro, Maine on April 14, 1907, a daughter of Gustavus F. and Lenora E. (Smith) Whitney. She attended local schools in Jonesboro.Mrs. MacRae had been employed 12 years by the Medfield State Hospital as a housekeeper retiring in 1970. Her and her husband, Earle moved to Sanford from Medfield, MA, in 1971.She is predeceased by her husband, Earle C. MacRae who passed away in 1995, one son, Hollis E. MacRae, in 1943.She is survived by one daughter, Lucille Manchester, of Sanford, two grandsons, Paul Gilson Jr., and Thomas Gilson, four great grandchildren and seven nieces and three nephews.Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 7-9pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am.
