Ruth E. Luciano

Ruth E. Luciano, 65, of Sanford, died Friday, October 19, 2007 at Greenwood Center in Sanford.Ruth was born on August 21, 1942 in Long Island, New York to Charles and Hilda Olson Sandstrom. She left New York and moved to Florida where she stayed for several years until eventually relocating to Maine. She worked for nearly 20 years at Brooks Woolen in Sanford and then worked for a time at Courtney Cleaners and Roger's Supa Dolla. Mrs. Luciano was a fun loving woman. She liked going for walks, crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, listening to music and dancing. She was an excellent gardener and particularly liked growing houseplants. She would often grow plants and then give them to people as gifts. She had a soft spot for animals and particularly liked horses and her many cats. Ruth will be remembered as a kind and loving person and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Surviving are nieces and nephews Lisa Black and her husband Kevin of Alfred, Amanda Rock of Biddeford, Christopher and Kalyn Rock of Alfred and Aaron Rock of Sanford.A period of visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral following at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 26th at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, New England Division, Inc., 1 Main Street - Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
