Rosilda M. "Rose" Demers, 89, a lifelong resident of Sanford, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in Springvale on October 29, 1923, a daughter of the late Leonidas and Bertha (Doiron) Letourneau. She attended St. Ignatius School and was a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Parish where for 15 years she led the rosary before the Saturday evening mass.For many years she was employed by the Sanford Goodall Textile Mills. She retired in 1984 from the Sutton Mills. After retirement she volunteered at the Camp Waban Outlet Store. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, and crocheting. The grandchildren will always remember "Memere Soup".She is predeceased by her husband, Adrien R. Demers who passed away in 1998, sisters, Lillian Goulet, Lucy Doiron, brother, Edmund Letourneau.She is survived by one son, Paul A. Demers and his wife, Laurie of Springvale, two daughters, Arline D. Fortier and her husband, Rodney of Sanford, Anita J. LaFrance of Sanford, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, brother, Joseph Letourneau of Sanford, sisters, Cecilia Garland of Sanford, Florida Fougere of Sanford.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 30th at 10AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church.
