Ronald G. Morin
Ronald G. Morin, 81, of Sanford, passed away on November 19, 2017 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Sanford on January 15, 1936 a son of the late Evans and Jeanne (Morin) Morin. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Sanford High School. He then attended Northeast Tech in Boston and graduated from the apprentice course at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He retired after 27 years of service as an electrical planner.Prior to that he had worked for 3M-Thermo Fax in Boston. He served in the US Army and in the Marine Corps Reserve. He did volunteer work with the Meals on Wheels Program and at the Alfred Shelter as well as many other projects. He served on the Board at Camp Waban and was an active member of the Sanford Historical Committee. He was a charter member of Laudholm Farm Trust in Wells. He was also a member of the Harbor Masters of Maine and the New York Renegades. He had numerous friends in these clubs both in Maine and other States.He enjoyed travelling in the US and Canada as well as abroad. He liked the outdoors, hiking and camping, nature, animals, his pets, and the mountains and lakes and oceans. He belonged to and was active in the YMCA Health Program. He enjoyed history, collecting antiques as well as auctions and flea markets. He is survived by his sisters, Lucille Hutchinson of Portland, Maine, Priscilla Ollier Morin of Quimper, France, brother, Richard J. Morin of Harrisonburg, Virginia, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his two close friends from Rhode Island and his club brothers and associates and close friend, Willard Bill Stevens.Visiting hours will be on Friday from 5 to 7PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, Payne Street, Springvale.
