Ronald E. Devoid

Ronald E. Devoid, 69, of Sanford, died at Maine Medical Center in Portland on Monday, January 30, 2012.Ronald was born in Sanford on January 6, 1943 to Arlene Devoid and attended local schools, graduating from St. Ignatius High School in 1961. Following high school He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving four years. After completing his enlistment he returned to Sanford and married Claire Bannister. They spent the next 46 years together and raised two sons. He received his MBA from Nasson College in Springvale in 1988.Ronald was employed for 18 years as an accountant at E.C. Ricker and Sons in Alfred. He went on to work at Methot Auto Dealership and Insurance Agency in Biddeford as the business manager. He was also employed as the Office Manager for R. Pepin and Sons in Sanford until his retirement in 2002. Ronald enjoyed working around his farm and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a kind and loving man who enjoyed his close personal friendships with his Christian brothers and sisters.Surviving are his wife, Claire Deviod of Sanford; two sons, John Devoid of Sanford and Scott Devoid and his wife Angela of North Berwick; two grandchildren, Aiden and Ella Devoid of North Berwick and two brothers, Roger Devoid and his wife Ursula of Sanford and Paul Devoid and his wife Ann of Sanford.A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, February 2nd at the Church of the Prince of Peace, located at 922 Main Street, Sanford, in the Lower Mid-Town Mall.
