Roland Roy 92, of Sanford, Maine passed away on December 12, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 15, 1925 to Joseph and Clara (Bernier) Roy in Sanford.On June 1, 1946 he married Jeanne St. Jean and together they raised five children.He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. During his career he worked as a lumberman and then was employed by Pepin and Sons until his retirement. Roland was a hard worker all of his life and loved being in the woods hiking, canoeing and fishing. He mostly enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.He is predeceased by his wife Jeanne Roy.Survivors include a daughter, Irene Hunter and her husband Philip of Dover, NH, a son Michael Roy and his wife Kathy of Sanford, a son Robert Roy and his wife Grace of Tilton, NH, a son Ronald Roy and his wife Ruth of Nottingham, NH, a daughter Jacquelyn LaBrecque and her husband Marcel of Saco, and 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 9, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church on 66 North Ave. in Sanford.
