Roger A. Therrien Sr., 87, of Sanford, passed away on Friday March 7, 2014 at the Pavilion in Sanford. He was born in Sanford on March 28, 1926 a son of the late Hormidas and Alma (Theriault) Therrien. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.A communicant of Holy Family parish he also served as Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus McGinnis Council.He had formerly been employed by the Sanford Goodall Mills, Salem Suede, Allied Novelty Shoe and Waterboro Tanning. For several years he was also involved with the Boy Scouts serving as assistant Scout Master ,Wolf Patrol Dad and Explorer Leader.He is predeceased by his wife, Frances Therrien who passed away in 1995, one daughter, Yvette Demko who passed away in 2009.He is survived by one son, Roger A. Therrien Jr., of Londonderry, NH, one daughter, Helen E. Bragg of Sanford, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two sisters, Lea Whalen of Orange, CA, Rachel Pierce of Hartford, CT.Visiting hours for Mr. Therrien will be on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church in Sanford.
