Roger M. Ramsell
Roger M. Ramsell, 87, of Sanford, died December 10 at the Goodall Hospital in Sanford after a brief illness.He was born in Waterboro on February 22, 1921, the son of Nelson and Myron (Bean) Ramsell, attended Waterboro schools and was a graduate of Waterboro High School.Roger served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.He was employed over the years with the Goodall-Sanford Textile Mills, and then Sanford Plastics. He moved to Derry, NH where he resided for 25 years employed with Western Electric in No. Andover, MA. During these years, the family maintained a summer camp on Little Osspiee pond in Waterboro.He moved to Holiday, FL and lived there for 15 years or so, returning to Maine about 3 year ago to be nearer family as his health declined.He was an animal lover and enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of the Elks lodge, the American Legion and the VFW, all in Sanford.His wife, Berthe (Gosselin) Ramsell, died in 2007.Survivors include his son, Barry Ramsell and his fiance Diane Reynolds of Plaistow, NH, nephews David Pepin of Wells, Dick Pepin of New Port Richey, FL, Guy Gosselin of Sanford, and nieces Pauline MacMillan of Alfred, Elaine Lacola of Waterboro, and Gail Gosselin of Sanford.A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery in So. Waterboro. Arrangements are under the guidance of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Animal Welfare Society, P.
