Roger L. Morin, 86, of Sanford passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH after complications of Covid-19 and dementia. He was born on November 7, 1934 to the late Oscar and Louisa (Pelletier) Morin in Sanford where he grew up and attended local schools, including St. Ignatius High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served for 20 years. He then moved his family back to Sanford and was employed at General Electric in Somersworth, NH for 20 years and retired from there as well. Being someone who couldn't sit idle, he worked part-time at Aubuchon Hardware for a time also. On May 29, 1960 Roger married his loving wife Laura (Hall) Morin and together they had three children. He loved to spend time working outside on his lawns around his home. He also enjoyed going to casinos with his wife. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his grandchildren. He would often have them sitting on his lap riding on his lawnmower with him. Roger always liked golden retrievers and had several over the years. His favorite being the one he left behind, Molly. Roger was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is greatly loved and will be dearly missed. He is predeceased by his parents, a brother Lionel Morin and a sister Gertrude Letourneau. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years Laura Morin, his son Blaine Morin Sr. of Sanford, his daughter Suzette Kendal and her significant other Jeff Burtin of TX, his daughter Melissa Maccabee and her husband George of Rochester, NH, 5 grandchildren, Janelle Morin her significant other Bryan Pierce, Blaine Morin Jr., Sarah Delmas and her husband Jesse, Jacob Kendal and his wife Autumn, and Katie Butler her significant other Dylan Delisle, two great grandchildren Elliot and Oliver Kendal, his sister Collette Phillips and her husband Weston, his brother Robert Morin and his wife Judy, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and military honors will take place at Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale at a later date. Rogers' family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers of Wentworth Douglas Hospital for their exceptional care.
