Robert L. Wolfe, 91, of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Boston, MA, on November 3, 1930 a son of the late Julius and Florence ( Jersky) Wolfe. Following graduation at Northeastern University he enlisted and served in the United States Air Force. His teaching career began in Warrensburg, New York where he also served as a volunteer fireman and was involved as a camp counselor for under priviledged children.He later taught History at the Hanover Junior and High School. After retirement along with his wife Ann, they moved to Maine and he continued substitute teaching in the Sanford School District. He was active in the Mem's Gideon Club. Along with his wife they attended Curtis Lake Church in Sanford. During this time he was also affiliated with Jews for Jesus of Boston.He took great pride in his grandchildren's achievements. He enjoyed attending and following his grandson's football career as well as watching his granddaughter cheerleading in Wells. He was as well devoted to his grandchildren in Massachusetts.He is predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Ann Davis Wolfe.He is survived by his children, Ilene Debra DeLorey of Sanford, Maine, Thomas M. Wolfe and his wife, Terri of Titusville, FL, Heidi S. Hosmer and her husband, David of Whitman, MA. Cindy Lou Wolfe and fiance, Phillip Newton of Belfast, Maine, grandchildren, Hollie A. Hayes and her husband, Travis, Air Force Master Sergeant, Jeffrey Robert DeLorey and his wife, Rossli, Patrick Butler and his wife, Laura, Melanie Winters and her husband, Matt, Joshua Wolfe, Briaunna Elliot, great grandchildren, Lila Julianne Hayes, Waverly Rae Hayes, Blake Hollister Hayes, and Chace Jefferson DeLorey.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 2nd at 11AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, Maine. Family and friends are invited to gather beginning at 10AM until the time of the service. Burial with military honors will be in the spring at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Springvale.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.com

I will cherish every precious moment we had together. Im so grateful I could spend every last moment of you’re life with you praying and listening to you favorite songs. Im so grateful you peacefully went to Heaven . I know God and Mom were waiting with open arms. I know someday I will see you again and we will spend eternity together.   4. Mr Wolfe was one of my favorite teachers at Hanover Jr Sr high. He was with us from 7th -12th grade. He was sooooo nice. If you didn’t get it he’d sit with you and help. He was such a caring teacher. They weren’t all that way. He was a SPECIAL human being. Thx for sharing him.
