Robert L. Kiley, 71, of Sanford passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, with his family by his side.
He was born on June 23, 1953, in Lewiston to Alice (Loring) Kiley. Robert, better known as Bobby or Kiley to friends and family, was raised in the Limerick and Waterboro area, where he attended local schools.
Bobby held several jobs over the years, including landscaper, water tower technician, and carpenter. He was a dedicated worker and talented craftsman who took great pride in his work. Many of his landscaping projects can be viewed in towns across Southern Maine. Bobby especially appreciated spending time at the Sanford social clubs where he gained so many lifetime friendships. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Known for his social nature, easy smile, sense of humor, and infectious laugh, he enjoyed the time he spent with friends, family and loved ones.
He is predeceased by his mother Alice, sisters Jo Lashua and Mary Reed, and a brother Ernest Kiley.
Survivors include his wife Catherine Kiley of Sanford, his beloved daughter Bobbi-Jo Kiley-Wisdom and her husband Glenroy of Limerick, grandchildren Korey Sanborn and his wife Haley, Kyle Sanborn, Kelsey Sanborn and Kayleigh Sanborn, 7 great grandchildren, brothers William Kiley of New Gloucester, George Kiley and his wife Marge of Waterboro, and sisters Stell Mooney of New Gloucester, Patricia Hussey of Waterboro, Betty Graffam of Shapleigh and many, many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Hillcrest cemetery in Hollis on June 1st, 2025, at 1:00 P.M.
A celebration of life will follow at the V.F.W. Post 9935 in Sanford.
