Robert J. Goodwin

Robert J. Goodwin, 62, of Sanford, died on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Greenwood Center in Sanford following a lengthy illness.Bob was born in Westbrook on January 27, 1951 to Linwood and Joyce Goodwin. He grew up in Goodwins Mills and attended local schools, graduating from Thornton Academy. Her was a very hard working man and was employed for many years as a CNA at several local healthcare facilities.Bob was a very outgoing person with an excellent sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed going antiquing, going to the beach and keeping up with the events of the English royal family. He was always very interested in lighthouses and had the opportunity to visit virtually every lighthouse in New England. Bob was a devoted family man and made spending time with his family a priority. He will be remembered as a kind and loving man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Surviving are three children, Rebekah J. Goodwin/Shaw and her husband Alan of Sanford, David A. Goodwin of Sanford and Lindsey M. Goodwin and her companion Ryan Kimball of Sanford; his parents, Linwood and Joyce Goodwin of Goodwins Mills; his former spouse, Barbara Goodwin of Sanford; three children, Davaijah Lynn Moran, Kayla-Bell Shaw and Joshua David Shaw, all of Sanford and three sisters, Debbie, Barbara and Kim.Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 30th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.
