Robert (Bob) A. Camire, 79, died unexpectedly at his home in Acton on Saturday, March 30, 2019. He was born in Sanford a son of Osias and Blanche (Aubert) Camire. His first job, as a young boy, was delivering the Portland Press Herald. He went on to work in various local factories until he was drafted into the US Army in 1962. He served for two years. When he returned from service, Bob went back to work at Eastern Plastics. He later worked at Moulton Mold and Cavity and Brooks Woolen. Prior to his retirement, he delivered the Portland Press Herald and Journal Tribune newspapers throughout Sanford, Springvale, Acton, and Shapleigh. He used to joke that started and ended his career peddling papers.Bob greatly enjoyed gardening with his wife, Claire, and eating the fresh vegetables they grew. He liked to keep the family home warm by stoking the wood furnace, and was delighted whenever called upon to fix something. He loved to walk around the neighborhood to visit with and help his neighbors.Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years, Claire (Duchette) Camire of Acton, daughter, Angel Camire, son, Anthony Camire both of Sanford, sister Reinette Sopel of Rangeley, brother, Lawrence Camire of Santa Fe, CA.Bob was a loving husband and a devoted father who will be greatly missed.Visiting hours will be on Thursday, April4th from 4 to 6PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church in Springvale.Condolences may be expressed at www.blackfuneralhomes.comIn lieu of flowers, please consider giving a donation to Bob's favorite charity, Boy's Town.
