Rita A. Sinks

Rita A. Sinks, 59, of Sanford died on Monday, July 6, 2009 at her home.Rita was born on September 13, 1949 to Elmer and Sophia (Polecat) Sinks. Her family lived in several places throughout the country while she was growing up including New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, California and Connecticut before finally settling in Maine.During her working life Rita was employed at Sprague Electric in Sanford and at Cabletron in Rochester. She was a member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma and the River of Life Church in Sanford. She enjoyed knitting, doing crossword puzzles and watching television. Rita was a cat lover and was very fond of her cat "Moose." Rita was a kind and loving mother, grandmother and sister who enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who would do anything to help somebody in need. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are four children, Carl Boston and his wife Cheryl of Limerick, Shelly Boston of Sanford, Sheila Cunningham of Parsonsfield and Sheldon Boston and his wife Rachel of Hiram; two sisters, Imogene McDowell of Mustang, OK and Juanita Gilman and her husband Tom of Springvale; a brother, Ray Sinks of Lewiston and 12 grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 10th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to The River of Life Church, 23 Washington Street, Sanford, Maine 04073.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
