Rita M. Poulin
Rita M. Poulin, 92, of Sanford, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Newton Center in Sanford. Rita was born in Biddeford, Maine on July 14, 1920 where she grew up and attended local schools. On September 2, 1939 she married Romeo Poulin. Together they raised five children and shared 65 years of marriage until his death in 2004. Rita was employed for many years at local textile mills and then owned and operated a well-established catering company.Rita was always welcoming and personable she enjoyed the company of family and friends, especially during their summers spent at Wells Beach. Some of her favorite hobbies included making pottery and ceramic figurines, doing jigsaw puzzles, baking and listening to country music. She was a communicant of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish of Sanford. She was a 50 year member of the Daughters of Isabella. She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother and grandmother that will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Rita was predeceased by her husband Romeo L. Poulin and brother Clement Lamothe.Surviving are five children, Alice Crow and her husband Mark of Hudson, Florida; Helen Jarrett and her husband Peter of Anchorage, Alaska; Betty Poulin of Idaho; Bryan Poulin of Miami, Florida and Brenda Skees and her husband Gary of Orange Park, Florida.Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13th at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home located at 29 Winter Street, Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 14th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church located at 66 North Avenue in Sanford.
