She loved watching game shows and was religious about watching her soap operas during the week. She loved to go shopping and had a great love for talking on the phone at all hours of the day and night, and could talk for hours. Her greatest love was the time she spent surrounded by her family and was especially happy to be Nana to her two granddaughters whom she adored.
Rita was a lifelong communicant and devout parishioner of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Portland.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff at Maine Medical Center and the Gosnell House for their care of Rita.

When I was getting reading for my 1st communion, my father was video taping(that’ll tell you how old I am)the house, and she open a box of cookies. She looked at the camera, all upset, and said “It’s not enough”!! We still laugh and joke about that today.
