Rita A. Cote

Rita A. Cote, 72, of Kennebunk, died on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Southern Maine Medical Center following a lengthy illness.Rita was born in Sanford on May 18, 1935 to Andre and Emily Rowe Cote. She loved her family and liked to keep up with the details of what was going on in their lives. She enjoyed going to barbecues at her brother's house and spending time with her family. During the summer, she liked to go to the lake. Miss Cote was a member of Holy Family Church. She was a very religious woman who deeply loved the Lord. Her faith was very important to her. Due to declining health in the last years of her life, Rita had to move into a nursing home. She made the most of her time there by becoming involved with many of the different activities and playing board games. She also liked to watch movies on the Hallmark Channel. Miss Cote will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family.Rita was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Andre Jr. and a sister, Theresa Morin.Surviving are two brothers, Ronald Cote and his wife Susan of Sanford and Ernest Cote of Shapleigh; a sister, Beatrice Fletcher of Sanford; nephews, Jasson Cote and his wife Abbie of Sanford, Brandon Cote of Sanford, Rick Hambleton and his wife Patricia of Alfred and many other nieces and nephews.A period of visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 26 at Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 27 at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Lung Association of Maine, 122 State Street, Augusta, ME 04330-5615.To leave a message of condolence, please click on the condolences tab to the left.
