Ricky L. Roux

Ricky Leo Roux 46, passed away on February 19, 2017 at his home on Sherburne Street in Sanford. Some people lovingly called him Sugar Beet, Rickles or Freckle Beak. He was born at Goodall Hospital on June 27, 1970 at 10:47pm. He went to St. Thomas School through sixth grade and played baseball for SSYAA, where in 1979 his team won the championship with Wayne Machado as coach. He went on to attend Sanford Junior High and graduated Sanford High School in 1988. After graduating, Ricky worked at Welch's Pallet Shop in Lebanon for 16 years.In his younger years, Ricky enjoyed spending time with his Uncle Howard riding around, cutting wood, picking apples for apple cider, cutting Christmas trees, snowmobiling and riding on the scoot pulled by his favorite pair of oxen, Chub and Charlie. If Ricky wasn't on the farm, he could be found at Beechridge Motor Speedway watching #93, his uncle Danny race.He spent many summers on Mousam Lake riding in the boat with his brother and cousins, and numerous holiday parties with his entire family. He loved outdoor activities such as hunting, and riding his 4-wheeler, but loved riding his motorcycle the best. Ricky was always ready and willing to help anyone. As recent as last week, Ricky could be seen snow blowing the Lebruns, Tanguays' and other neighbor's yards. He had a great sense of humor and his life was shared with many friends. He will be greatly missed by all.Ricky is survived by his mother Sheila Tague and her husband William, his father Richard Roux and his wife Shirley, his daughter Emily Roux and her mother Rita George, his brother Michael Roux Sr., his wife Jennifer and nephew Michael Roux Jr. Ricky is also survived by two step sisters, one step brother, Godparents Richard and Muriel Langlais, his loving girlfriend Kim Dube and several aunts, uncles and cousins.In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity in memory of Ricky Roux.Visiting hours for Ricky will be on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street Springvale Maine from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at The Sanford VFW located at 1 Hutchinson Street, (right off from School Street) in Sanford from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
