Crissy and Richard, I was so saddened to read of your Dad’s death this morning. My husband and I spent many fun evenings visiting with Dick and Carlene and we enjoyed going out for dinner and/or lunch with them. He was a wonderful person and was loved by all who knew him. May the memories you have of the “good times” help sustain you in the years to come.

Thoughts, prayers and condolences to you all. I knew Dick through TANE and the Telephone Association of Maine. If my memory serves me correctly, my late husband, Wally Flaherty, worked with Dick at Standish Tel. and Utilities Inc. I last saw him at a dementia seminar sponsored by Fallbrook Woods. He told me Carlene was a resident there and how he visited her each day for lunch I believe. I was saddened by that. Dick was one of the best – a joy to be around. May you all have peace knowing he is at rest.

My husband and I live in Winslow Green, Unit 2, and had many wonderful conversations with Dick. We discovered we had people and places around Portland in common. For one we lived for many years on 31 Allison Ave and found out Dick and his wife lived on West Lynn, directly perpendicular from us. My grand daughters loved patting Cadbury whenever they had the opportunity. Jim and I wished we had more conversations with Dick and are so so saddened by his accident and passing. He always seemed so gentle and compassionate and always wanted to donate each year to the flower garden that a few of us planted and maintained at the head of the street which was not funded by the association. We have lost a wonderful neighbor. Judy and Jim Storer

Chris & Rich, our hearts go out to you and your family on the loss of your dad. So sad. He and your mom were great neighbors (as were you and Joe) and we carry wonderful memories made with them…..including his chuckle as he and I watched the wind blow his leaves across the street to my lawn every Autumn. Very sweet man; really enjoyed his sense of humor! – Marlene, Joe, Lauren, and Shannon Donovan
