  1. We met Dick and Cindy at the Rockland Golf Club in Maine 3 years ago. He and Cindy took my son Phinn out to play with their group. Phinn and Dick became fast friends. We got together several times since then and had many cards letters, and conversations between them. We sure will miss you Dick, and Phinn will never forget you. Please accept our sincere condolences to all Dicks family. Celia Knight, Chris and Phinn Oliver

    • My Dad has talked about you guys! I am hoping to have the pleasure of meeting you and Phinn at his service in October. Thank you for your kind words..

  2. Braintree was fortunate to have him as their head Golf Professional. Shortly after winning the Massachusetts Open in 1974 and again in 1975, Dick was instrumental in exposing the Golf Course and putting Braintree on the map. With his dedication to practice, particularly on the putting green, he was an inspiration to me. Thank you Dick. May you rest in peace 🙏

  3. One of the best neighbors I ever had in Boston, always caring, and he was so kind to his kittens, a love that taught me to love cats too. I was the person who fed them over the years. I also took care of their house with great affection, and my children grew up with me feeding their kittens. Maybe that’s why we have cats today. Only you, Dick. Can an asthmatic have cats? – I can see you grim now…
I’ll miss you, your intelligence, and your advices. Thank you for making me part of your lives .My sincere condolences.

  4. Sincere thanks for the devoted military service you gave to the people of this nation. May you rest in peace.

  5. Dick was instrumental in nurturing and accelerating my love for the game of golf. He greatly helped me develop both my instructional skills and my playing ability. We first met at Sassamon Trace Golf Course and quickly built a wonderful relationship during our time together there. I am forever grateful to have known him and to have shared those moments. He was truly a remarkable man, and I will miss him deeply.
