Regina T. Collette

Regina T. Collette of Sanford, died December 6 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford with her family by her side, after a lengthy illness.She was born in Sanford, the daughter of Frank and Alice (Frechette) Collette. She was a 1948 graduate of St. Ignatius High School and a 1951 graduate of Notre Dame School of Nursing in Manchester, NH.Her nursing career spanned 35 years and it began at St. Francis Hospital in the Bronx, NY where she worked for 2 years. She returned to Sanford and worked for many years in the maternity ward of the H. D. Goodall Hospital, and also worked as a private duty nurse.Regina was predeceased by her parents, an infant brother, a brother Roger Collette who was killed in the Korean Conflict, a brother Leonard Collette and a sister Beatrice Coutu.Survivors include her sister Marie Jacques of Sanford, a sister-in-law Clarisse Collette a brother-in-law Donald Coutu and several nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at the Holy Family Church of St. Therse of Lisieux Parish in Sanford. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
