Regina Mary Barbour

SOUTH PORLTAND - Regina Mary Barbour, 100, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2013 at Cedars Nursing Facility. She was born on November 30, 1912 in Madison, Maine, a daughter of Levi and Josephine Richard Arsenault. She attended Mexico, Maine schools, graduating from Mexico High School, in 1930. After Regina married Stanley J. Barbour they made their home in Monmouth, Maine for many years. She worked for the Globe Albany Textile Mill in Monmouth, Maine from 1950-1974. She moved to South Portland in 1982 after the death of her husband. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church. Regina was predeceased by her parents, her husband in 1982, by a daughter, Cathleen Barbour, in 1944, two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by two daughters, Carole Eaton and her husband Maurice of South Portland, and Jacquelyn LaPlointe of Augusta; two sons, Gregory S. Barbour and his wife Carol of Leeds, and James J. Barbour and his partner Susan of Newfield; nine grandchildren, Maureen, Michael, Kevin, James, Terry, Tina, Scott, Stephen, Lisa; 10 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Cross Church, corner of Cottage Road and Broadway, South Portland. Burial will be in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop, Maine.
