Raymond E. Stanley

Raymond E. Stanley, 71, of Springvale and formerly of East Parsonsfield, passed away on Wednesday February 27, 2008 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. Born on March 16, 1936, he was a son of Ernest and Clara (Downing) Stanley.On May 7, 1983 he married the former Lucy Knowles in Sanford. Mr. Stanley worked at the Brooks Woolen Mill 14 years. He then worked at Shain's Vegetable Stand during the summer months. He enjoyed fishing, music and woodworking. He had a good sense of humor and liked to joke around.He is predeceased by one half brother, Elmer Downing, one half sister, Ann Stephens, two sisters, Rose Stanley Dore, Stella Stanley Abbott, one brother, Harold Stanley.He is survived by his wife, Lucy Stanley of Springvale, one brother, Orion Stanley and his wife, Marion of Lyman as well as several nieces and nephews.A funeral service for Mr. Stanley will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 3pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street in Springvale.
