Raymond G. Bodge, 85, of Acton, Maine, died at his home on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Raymond was born on June 28, 1931 in Bridgewater, Massachusetts where he grew up and attended local schools. After graduating from high school he held several jobs before enlisting in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, proudly serving for four years. After completing his enlistment he returned to Massachusetts and went to work as a milk man for Peaceful Meadows. In 1966 he married Gail Liebovitz and together they raised two children and shared 50 years of marriage. Raymond went on to work for Friendly Ice Cream where he was employed for 25 years, eventually working his way up to district manager before retiring.Raymond was a motorcycle enthusiast and was a member of the Retreads XL Plus Motorcycle Club and had ridden all over the United States and Canada with his wife. He was also a member of the Maine Obsolete Auto Club with his 1964 1/2 black Mustang convertible. He enjoyed cutting and selling firewood and buying items at auctions and estate sales which he would resell with his son. He also enjoyed hunting, playing bingo at the Trafton Center and playing pool. Raymond was an outgoing man with many friends. He will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.Raymond is survived by his wife, Gail Bodge of Acton; two children, Lisa Pimpare and her husband Randy of Acton and Joseph Bodge of Epping, New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Daniel Rodney and Kyle Bodge; two great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Owen and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 29th at the Southern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery located on Stanley Road in Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to Compassus Hospice, 23 Spring Suite, Suite C, Scarborough, Maine 04074.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left,
