Rachel M. Aronson
Rachel M. Aronson, 67, of Alfred, died unexpectedly on August 17 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.She was born in Exeter, NH on February 1, 1943, the daughter of Harvey R. and Gertrude (Carpenter) Brackett. She grew up along the seacoast region of New Hampshire attending schools there and attended Sanford High School. She graduated from the Sanford Adult Education Program as a Certified Nurse's Assistant.Rachel was employed for a time with the Visiting Nurses of Southern Maine and with Riverridge in Kennebunk. She retired so that she could enjoy being a grandmother to the two favorite people in her life, her two grandsons Hunter and Devin.In her leisure time, she enjoyed fishing, target shooting, dining out, trips to Foxwoods and she recently attended her first Red Sox game. She was an avid motorcyclist and was a past co-president of the Gold Wing Riders Association, Chapter A.She was predeceased by her husband, Roy Aronson in 1980, and by a granddaughter, Kayleigh Morissette in 1995.Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Morissette, her husband John and their sons Hunter and Devin, all of Shapleigh, a son, William B. Aronson and Christie Campbell of Limerick, her longtime companion, Blaine Goodrich of Alfred, a brother Burton Brackett and his wife Lucille of Brownwood, TX, a brother Henry Brackett and his wife Bonnie of Temple, TX and several nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A period of visitation will follow the service after which a celebration of Rachel's life will continue with a cookout at 327 Jordan Springs Road in Alfred. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Alfred.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.
