Priscilla A. Hensel, 57, of Shapleigh, passed away peacefully at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a courageous battle with breast cancer.She was born in Sanford on April 22, 1956, the daughter of George A. and Geraldine (Vachon) Carignan, attended local schools and was a 1974 graduate of Massabesic High School.She was employed for many years at Pratt and Whitney in North Berwick, as a shipping and receiving specialist.She was a loving companion, remarkable mother, grandmother, as family was most important to her. She enjoyed cooking especially the big family meals she would prepare for everyone, along with many activities around the home including sewing and other crafts but her greatest joys were spending time with her grandchildren and "putting" around in the yard with her gardens . Priscilla also enjoyed traveling, which she had too little time to do, but managed to get in two great Caribbean cruises recently. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Patricia Carignan, Christine Carignan, Andrea Penney brothers Michael Carignan, and David Patch.Survivors include her loving companion of many years Steven McCarn of Shapleigh, her son Michael Trumble of Springvale, daughter Kimberly Todd and her husband Christopher of Gorham, son Joseph Carignan of Rochester, N.H. grandchildren Michael Trumble of Springvale, Owen and Ella Todd of Gorham, and Gracelynn Carignan of Rochester, N.H. a sister Geraldine Griffin and her husband Jack of Springvale.Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 30 from 3:00p.m. to 5:00p.m., with memorial service following at 5:00p.m. at the Carll Heald and Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street Springvale, Maine.The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Inhorn and all the staff of Mercy Oncology Center for the loving care they received as a family, also to the staff at The Gosnell Hospice House.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition, 499 Broadway, PMB 362, Bangor, Maine. 04401-3460Arrangement are under the directions of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service,Sanford - Springvale.To leave a message of condolence please click on Condolences tab at left.
