Peter J. Thomas

Peter J. Thomas, 24, of Sanford died in Springvale on Friday, December 30, 2016 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Peter was born in Stoneham, Massachusetts on July 16, 1992. When he was young he moved to Sanford where he grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Sanford High School in 2010. He had been most recently employed as an electrician apprentice for Page Electric in Sanford. Peter loved watching and playing hockey and was a big Bruins fan. He also enjoyed skating and playing disc golf. He was a very outgoing person with many friends and loved having family get-togethers and parties. He had a big heart and was always looking out for others and making sure that everyone was ok. Peter will be remembered as a caring and kind-hearted man and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Peter was predeceased by his two brothers, Dakota Thomas and Jackson Mace and by his grandparents, Ruth and Frank Judge, Geraldine Fillios and Gerald Mace, Sr. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Jeanne Mace and Gerald P. Jr.; his father, James J. Thomas of Ayer, Massachusetts; two siblings, Lauren Steeves of Woburn, Massachusetts and Matthew Mace of East Boston, Massachusetts; his niece, Sophia Lynn Mace of Revere, Massachusetts; his grandmother, Maureen Mace of Wilmington, Massachusetts; his girlfriend, Heather Daugherty of Springvale and by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7th from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral service following at 11:00 AM at St. George's Episcopal Church located at 3 Emerson Street in Sanford. Interment will be at a later date at the Fox Hill Cemetery located in Billerica, Massachusetts.
