Westbrook – Peter Fafoutas, 86, passed away on November 23, 2025, in Falmouth. Peter was born on September 30, 1939, in Portland.
Peter’s parents immigrated to Portland from Greece, and he grew up attending schools in the Portland area. His brother got him a job installing carpets which led to a lifelong career installing and repairing carpets. He met his wife on a blind date set up by a friend of a friend. He worked for a short time at the Maine Audubon Society with his wife, Ruby, helping to set up for their functions.
When Peter was a young man, he enjoyed going out on his little boat and meeting friends out on the water. He also owned a Corvette that he blew the engine in twice before meeting his wife! Ruby brought cats into Peter’s life, he came to enjoy their company.
Peter was an introverted and quiet man; he enjoyed his alone time at home. He liked to go for drives to the mountains in New Hampshire the enjoy the scenery. He loved to go out to eat, especially Asian food!
Peter was predeceased by his brother, John Fafoutas. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruby (Thomas) Fafoutas.
