Peter Joseph Bernier

Obituary for Website: South Portland - Peter Bernier, 78, passed away on May 2, 2022, after a brief illness. Peter was born in Westbrook, on December 12, 1943, the son of the late Rodolphe and Dorothy (Watson) Bernier. He grew up in Westbrook and attended local schools. Peter and Debbie were married in 1997. They had a wonderful 26 years of life and marriage together. Peter worked in the tire business most of his life. And he loved cars. He also loved to watch Nascar races, going to the Oxford Casino and going to Las Vegas, that was his favorite. Their little rescue dog, Mickey, is also going to miss him greatly. Peter did all the dog walking and feeding and Mickey just loved him. He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Bernier; and a sister, Priscilla Cooper. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Bernier of South Portland; two sons, Travis Bernier and his wife Emily Stadler of Buxton, Jason Bernier and his partner Kristin Drottar of Windham; two grandsons, Tyler and Zachary; a brother, Dan Bernier and his wife Sandy of Standish; a niece, Cassandra Bernier; and a nephew, Lee Bernier. Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of South Portland.
