Perley E. Knox

Perley E. Knox, 90 years old of Sanford, ME died Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford.Mr. Knox was born on January 16, 1916 in Bethel, VT. He lived throughout New England until settling down in Sanford with his family. He worked at local mills as a machinist until his retirement.Mr. Knox enjoyed hunting as a younger man, as well as bowling. He also loved to putter around his shop. He was a call fire fighter during the 1950's and 60's, and enjoyed visiting the Christian Science reading room and the Trafton Center.Surviving Mr. Knox is his wife Annie Holdsworth Knox of Sanford, a son, Timothy Knox and his wife Marjorie of Springvale; two nieces, Nancy Holdsworth of Rochester, NH, and Sharon Abbott of Somersworth, NH. Also surviving are great nieces and nephews Brian Holdsworth, Michelle Conrad, Stephanie Foglio, and Michael Abbott.A period of visitation will be held this Friday, December 1, 2006 from 5 to 7 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. Springvale, ME; where services will be held at 9:30 AM on December the 2nd.
