Pauline M. Bennett, 93, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford.Pauline was born in Waterboro where she grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Waterboro High School. After graduating she enrolled at the University of Maine in Gorham where she received her Bachelor's Degree in education. She was employed for many years as a second grade teacher at Edison School in Sanford. Pauline loved teaching and each one of her students held a special place in her heart.Pauline loved spending time outdoors. She and her husband owned a camp on Moosehead Lake in Greenville where they shared many happy years together. She enjoyed going fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and bowling and had been a member of the Springvale First Baptist Church. Pauline was a loving and devoted aunt who treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred Bennett and by two siblings, Frances E. Woodward and Dorris "Red" Moulton.Surviving are three nieces, Jackie Perron, Sherri Jordan and her husband John and Lisa Blanchette and her husband Tom, all of Sanford; five great-nieces and nephews, Joseph P. Perron and his companion Meaghan Abbott of Lebanon, Steve Bickford and his wife Jessica of Sanford, T. Michael Blanchette and his companion Faith Lipp of Acton, Kristie Blanchette of Sanford, Jenna Pivin and her companion James Coyne of Sanford and five great-great nieces and nephews, Hadley Perron, Khloe and Aiden Pivin, Preston and Ethan Brown.A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 5th at the Oakdale Cemetery, located on Twombley Road in Sanford.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the Greenwood Center Activities Fund, 1142 Main Street, Sanford, Maine 04073.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
